Alison Smith Story is a dynamic entrepreneur, storyteller, and advocate for women-owned businesses, best known for her success in the wine industry and her dedication to social entrepreneurship. 

A native Texan, Ali grew up with a deep appreciation for hard work, resilience, and the power of community—values that have shaped her journey as a founder, business leader, and breast cancer survivor. 

Ali''s also “A recovered Southern Baptist” and is writing a memoir about her unique childhood and path to being a Sonoma County Vintner. 

As the co-founder of a celebrated Smith Story Wine Cellars, Ali has carved out a space in the traditionally male-dominated industry, creating a brand that blends passion with purpose. Her entrepreneurial journey, alongside her husband (Eric Story) and business partner, showcases the challenges and rewards of working with a spouse, scaling a startup, and building a legacy that extends beyond business.

A fierce advocate for family owned wineries and women in business, Ali has been featured in Forbes, Wine Enthusiast, The Wall Street Journal, SF Chronicle, Garden & Gun, and the Washington Post among others sharing insights on leadership, innovation, bravery and the power of resilience. She has also spoken at numerous events inspiring the next generation of founders to chase their dreams fearlessly.

Beyond business, Ali’s story of overcoming breast cancer has fueled her commitment to giving back with her BRAVE wine label and newest and upcoming project Domaine de Brave. She actively supports breast cancer awareness initiatives and champions social impact projects, including Socks for Sandwich.org, a nonprofit dedicated to providing essential new socks to those in need. Her passion for social entrepreneurship extends to mentoring and empowering other mission-driven founders who want to make a difference.
